JAARS "backup" policy
JAARS does not use (what we might call) backup software.
It is risky saving items solely to a hardware device, i.e. a laptop hard drive.
If a JAARS Chromebook (hardware) crashes, breaks, (God forbid) stolen, I have not lost files or documents because they are all on the Google Drive (cloud) & I can access them from any device that I can use to log into my Google account. I know individuals who have had each of the unfortunate scenarios above happen to them. And it was very disruptive to their job/work as well as the business, including their peers & subordinates.
Any JAARS file/document that is important (would cause a disruption or halt of work) should be saved to the JAARS Google Drive. That is the JAARS "backup."
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope that makes sense or was described clearly.
