What do I do in an evacuation? What do I do in the event of a fire?
If you see/smell signs of a fire/gas leak (i.e. flames, smell of smoke or gas, etc.) you should pull the fire alarm. Once you hear the alarm you should quickly, but calmly exit the building. There are evacuation maps posted around each building that you should familiarize yourself with. Once you have exited the building, you will need to gather at your Assembly Point location. If you do not know where that is, you will need to ask your supervisor/manager. You can also follow the crowd to see where they gather. The Assembly Point is away from hazards and out of the way to allow clear passage of Emergency Vehicles.
While exiting, inform and help others evacuate the building if needed. Once at the Assembly Point, look around to see if anyone is missing that should be there. Ask others to see if they have any information regarding that person's whereabouts. When First Responders arrive ensure that they are aware someone is missing and the last known location of where they were in the building.
