What are all the Different WiFi Networks For?
The four WiFi networks you might see while here on base are JAARS-business, JAARS, JAARS-guest, and JAARS-housing. Each of these serves a different function and they exist to allow access to certain services to staff while simply providing basic internet connectivity to guests.
JAARS-business
The JAARS-business network is only available on devices such as laptops and tablets that the JAARS IDT team provides to its staff. If you were assigned a work laptop, this is the network that it should be connected to. This marks the device as a part of the JAARS internal network, and will allow the user to access services like printing, as well as local network resources.

This network is encrypted and cannot be joined by any other devices. For personal devices, see the JAARS network. If you were provided a work computer by JAARS and it cannot connect to the business network, please submit a ticket to our helpdesk so we can resolve your issue.
JAARS
The JAARS WiFi network is similar to the JAARS-business network, in that it will allow you access to printing, but will not allow connectivity to the local network resources. Also, this network is accessible to devices outside of the ones that the IDT team provides. If you are a JAARS Staff, tenant, or volunteer, and are using a personal laptop, phone, etc; rather than one that we provide you, this is the network you should use.
Signing In:
The username and password for this network are the same as your username and password for all JAARS services, where your username would be “firstname.lastname”, and the password would be the same as what you use to access email, PaperCut, computer, etc. If you are having trouble connecting to this network, try the Knowledge Base articles listed below.
